Everything was perfect. Diane was a gracious and helpful host, and we truly felt welcomed- David K
Argyle House was an excellent choice for us during our one night in Tomintoul. We hiked the Speysideway and were warmly welcomed by our host Dianne. The house is not the newest in standards but there is everything you need, a comfy bed, a hotshower, clean towels and linen, whisky and besides that it’s filled with love and enthusiasm for everyone visiting. We planned to take the school bus back to Ballindalloch but unfortunately it was a holiday week. Dianne did her greatest to organise our journey back down to the Spey. Thank you again! If you’re looking for a 5-star hotel, you‘ll be disappointed. But you will find much more there with Dianne‘s warmth, Steve‘s deliciously cooked breakfast, meeting other guests and real stars just around the corner at the dark sky sanctuary. We have to return though, as it got cloudy in the evening. Tomintoul and Argyle House, you must go there.- Julian S
This is a friendly, homely and welcoming place to stay. The hosts were friendly and helpful despite being busy looking after a full house. The breakfasts are excellent, the beds comfy, the rooms are clean and well appointed and the en-suite bathroom the same. The only criticism would be that the nextdoor room's shower pump can be heard, but that's only because we were already awake. We would certainly stay here again, though there's not much in the village itself, the area is beautiful and so much to see and do in easy reach, not least the Tomintoul distillery - one of so many to tour if that's your thing. - Pete T
